Pastor's Message
Dear Friends,
May God bless "your going out and your coming in" from January 1 to December 31st, 2009.
This year will be a wonderful opportunity to serve God with creativity and joy. Let's do it together as well as individually.
"Going out" could involve going out into the community to serve those in need: hunger, joblessness, homelessness, grief, meaninglessness, loneliness etc. Jesus said, "insomuch as you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me." Our acts for others are acts for Jesus spiritually (really!).
'Coming in" might mean for us this year, continuing and enriching our relationship with our Maker.... the One who loves us perfectly. We all need to take the time to enter into the sacred places of our hearts in silence, in humility, in dependence on God's grace.
Going out and Coming in.... life's rhythms.... contemplation and action. They aren't mutually exclusive, and the saints of all the years have wonderful guidance available to us on how to balance the inner and outer sides of the spiritual Christian life.
May God bless your going out and your coming in from this day forth and forevermore!
